J&K has lowest churn rate and highest proportion of active users in India….
· Mobile subscriber base of J&K increased by 9.60% during FY2012 to reach 6.30million
· Active wireless subscriber base in J&K is 84.46% (highest in the country) resulting in 5.33million active mobile users
· Active subscriber base in J&K increased by 16.25% during FY2012 compared with national average of 19.00%
· By March 2012, J&K is 22nd largest wireless telecom market in India accounting for 0.78% of total active subscriber base
· By March 2012, J&K registered 6,762 Mobile Number Portability (MNP) requests, resulting into churn rate of 0.11% which is lowest in India
Bharti Airtel leads with dominant 37.9% market share ….
· In J&K wireless telecom market, Airtel leads with 33.0% share in terms of total subscriber base followed by Aircel (25.8%), BSNL (16.6%), Vodafone (11.2%) and Reliance (8.6%)
· Bharti extends market share in terms of active subscriber base as 97.0% of its mobile subscribers are active compared with 85.0% for Aircel and 67.7% for BSNL
· In terms of active subscriber base, Airtel has 37.9% market share followed by Aircel (26.0%), and BSNL (13.3%)
· Airtel’s dominance is such that the gap between market shares of top 2 players (Bharti and Aircel) is 11.9%
· Top 5 players accounts for 95.4% of J&K’s active mobile subscriber base indicating dominance of leading players
