India mobile subscriber base touched 934.09 million in June 2012 experiencing slowdown in growth …
·        Indian wireless telecom market ends June 2012 with subscriber base of 934.09 million with addition of 4.73 million, monthly growth rate of 0.51%
·        Overall mobile teledensity stands at 76.99% (Urban – 162.46%, Rural – 39.80%)
·        Urban to rural subscriber ratio is 63.98% to 36.02%
·        Rural market added 4.12 million mobile subscribers at a monthly growth rate of 1.24% while urban subscriber base increased by 0.60 million, growth of just 0.10%
·        According to VLR data, India had 695.82 million active mobile subscribers. Hence, actual wireless teledensity in India is 57.35% by June 2012
·        In June 2012, about 4.16 million subscribers submitted Mobile Number Portability (MNP) requests which is about 0.45% of total mobile subscriber base in India

Bharti Airtel leads with 24.4% share as top 5 players owns 82.5% market….
·        Bharti Airtel has strengthened its leadership position with 24.4% market share in India
·        Idea has largest proportion of active mobile users at 92.51% followed by Bharti Airtel (90.78%) and Vodafone (89.30%)
·        Top 5 players in Indian wireless telecom industry accounts for 82.5% market share in terms of active subscriber base
·        Bharti Airtel (42.34%) added highest amount of subscribers in June 2012 followed by Vodafone (25.83%), Idea (25.36%), BSNL (11.93%) and Reliance (11.52%)
 U.P. (East) retains leadership position despite negative subscriber additions…
·         U.P. (East) with 58.49 million active mobile subscribers is leading followed by Maharashtra & Goa with 57.69 million active mobile users
·         During June 2012, subscriber base of U.P. (East) shrunk by 0.31 million while Maharashtra & Goa added 0.57 million mobile connections
·         Andhra Pradesh (52.76 million) is third followed by Tamil Nadu (52.07 million) at fourth. Bihar with 47.43 million active mobile subscribers is the 5th largest market wireless telecom market in India
·         Andhra Pradesh added highest number of new mobile connections during June 2012 – 0.86 million followed by Rajasthan (0.71 million) and Tamil Nadu with 0.57 million
