active mobile subscriber base increased to 795.59 million in June 2014 …
· Indian wireless telecom market ends June
2014 with subscriber base of 914.92 million, addition of 4.77 million, monthly
growth rate of 0.52%
· Overall mobile teledensity stands at
73.55% (Urban: 140.44%, Rural: 43.82%)
· Urban to rural subscriber ratio is 58.76%
to 41.24%
· Rural market expanded by 1.14 million
mobile subscribers at a monthly growth rate of
0.30% while urban subscriber base increased 3.63 million, growth of 0.68%
· According to VLR data, India had 795.58
million active mobile subscribers. Hence, actual wireless teledensity in India
is 86.96% by June 2014
· In June 2014, about 2.39 million
subscribers submitted Mobile Number Portability (MNP) requests which is about
0.26% of total mobile subscriber base in India

Pradesh (58.44 million) is third followed by Tamil Nadu (57.23 million) at
fourth. Bihar with 56.91 million active mobile subscribers is the 5th
largest market wireless telecom market in India

During
June 2014, West Bengal (871,239) added highest number of wireless subscribers
followed by U.P. (East) 618,257 and Gujarat (575,819) while Punjab lost
1,005,292 subscribers making it worst performing circle during June 2014
