Twitter acts tough on terrorism by blocking 3.7 lakh accounts in last six months

Popular micro blogging social networking is proactively taking steps to eliminate accounts related to terror outfits, terror activities or promoting terrorism.  In the second half of 2016, Twitter blocked / suspended 376,890 accounts. While since 1st August 2015, Twitter suspended 636,248 accounts. About 3/4th suspended accounts were tracked and caught by company’s own tools.

Twitter was aggressively used by extremists and terrorist outfits to promote their philosophy of racism and separatism. As a corrective measure to stop misuse of social media platform, Twitter acted tough on its policies against the promotion of violence including threatening or promoting terrorism.
